RAWALPINDI: Director General (DG) Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Asim Bajwa said that tribal people have no desire to see terrorists’ comeback in North Waziristan (NWA).
While briefing the media on operation Zarb-i-Azb, Asim said that operation against the extremists will continue till the eradication of the last militant. He also claimed that the militants have been wiping away from almost eighty percent area of the agency and that the rest will soon be cleared.
Bajaw also revealed that 100 hideouts of militants have been destroyed so far and 400 terrorists are killed while 130 injured during the operation besides 20 soldiers embraced martyrdom since the beginning of the operation and no civilian is killed so far.
According to the Commander Zarb-i-Azb, North Waziristan was considered to be the center of planning, logistic and communication for the terrorist.
The DG ISPR also urged the Afghan government to prevent entry of fleeing terrorists in Afghanistan. Further he said that Pak-army us employing troops, tanks and jets in North Waziristan to annihilate bastions which rebellions have used to mount countless deadly attacks in recent years.
