Sponsored gang arrested, were planning to sabotage 14 August Celebrations in Karachi: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Wednesday, in a press release said,  Sercurity Forces have busted a foreign funded gang who were planning to sabotage 14 August celebrations in Karachi.

Giving details in a press relesase, ISPR said,  carrying out Intelligence Based Operations Security Forces arrested some high value targets including TTP Swat chapter Naib Amir in Karachi, Bakhat Zaman also have been apprehended.

‘Gang had been planning for some time and had prepared an explosive laden vehicle and a motor cycle which they were to use on Youme Azadi’,ISPR said.

 

“During interrogation apprehended  terrorists confessed that vehicles were arraged from Karachi and now they were waiting for suicide bombers which had to arrive from Afghanistan and Amir of TT Sawat chapter in Karachi had gone to Afghanistan for the same purpose”,  statement further added.

After the tip off, Security agencies continued surveillance of group for weeks before the operation was simultaneously launched on 9th August in Hyderabad and Karachi to arrest culprits. Explosive laden Hi Roof some startling revelations are expected during interrogation.
