LAHORE: The prolific column writer and political analyst Hassan Nissar expressed his concerns about Pakistan’s neutral stance at Yemen crisis.
He was of the view that whatever has come out was expected and that he had written already that Arabs will demand a ‘black and white reply’ on the situation.
‘You can’t mince words and get away with it’, he said and that Arabs are quite straight forward in their dealings. ‘Our government can’t deceive them like they it cheats our public by offering something contrary to that which it offers’.
Mr Nissar said that the statement delivered by UAE administration is an ‘open threat’ for Pakistan.
Meanwhile, a private channel news-caster, Ahmad Qureshi, has also expressed his views none other than in Arabic language during the transmission becoming a mouth-piece for Pakistanis. ‘If we don’t stand alongside our friends in the time of hardships, when would we? Pakistan has always taken security of Arab countries seriously.’
Earlier, Pakistan has passed a resolution after a six day long discussion in a joint parliamentary session called for Yemen crisis. The resolution said that Pakistan will remain ‘neutral’ on the concerning issues with a vow to protect Harmain Shareefain. Responding to this ambiguity, UAE stated that Pakistan will have to pay for such absurd stance.
