SAN FRANCISCO: Facebook hit a new record here on Thursday when in a single day about one billion people visited it all over the world for the first time on social media.
“We just passes an important milestone”, chief executive and co-founder Mark Zuckerberg said in a post on his Facebook page.
He further added that on Monday, August 24, 2015 about one in seven people on Earth visited Facebook to connect with their friends and family.
Zuckerberg said that when we talk about our financials, we use average numbers but this is different. This was the first time we reached this milestone, and it’s just the beginning of connecting the whole world.
Zuckerberg also posted a video on his social account dedicated to the achievement.
As far as the earnings update last month, Facebook’s monthly active users rose to 13 % a year ago touching the figure of 1.49 billion. The number of mobile active users rose to 1.31 billion.
