Six children drown in Larkana


Larkana: In two different locations, six children including two brothers and two sisters, drowned in the Rice Canal and in a pond on Thursday.


According to the eyewitnesses, these children who were later identified as Alisha, 7, Rimsha jiskani, 6, (sisters) and Saima Jiskani, 8, drowned while saving one another when they were taking a bath in the Rice Canal near Bazigar Bridge to take a respite from the hot weather.

The dead bodies of these children were taken out and conveyed to their homes by their neighbors belong to New Nazar Mohalla which is situated on the bank of the canal.


The same sort of catastrophe occurred in Sharef Magsi village in Qambar-Shahdadkot district on Wednesday evening in which three children which were identified as Sardar Ali Magsi,6, Sheraz Ali Magsi,7 (brothers), and Baggan magsi,8, drowned during bath in a pond.

It is informed by the villagers that these children were returning back after attending a wedding ceremony in Buthi village, 40 kilometres away from their village, on their way they stopped at a pond to take a short bath.

The Deputy Commissioner of Qamba-Shahdadkot Asad Abro and PPP leader Ghulam Haidar Khokhar expressed their condolences at the tragic incident and visited the families.
