Resolution passed in NA to observe Dec 16 as ‘Pakistan Children Day’


The National Assembly of Pakistan suggested the government to observe December 16 as ‘Pakistan Children Day’ every year to remember and commemorate the sacrifices given by APS children.


An unanimous resolution was moved by Minister for Climate Change Zahid Hamid that was passed by the parliament.

On this occasion, the House strongly denounced the brutality in APS last year and expressed profound compassion with the families of the martyr children. An appreciation note was included in the resolution that pursuant of the atrocious attack, military action against terrorists launched by Pakistan’s diehard armed forces proven to be successful.


The resolution said in acknowledging of the national solidarity formed by this heart rendering tragic incident which has even caused strengthening the strong resolve of the people of Pakistan to tackle, knock down and eradicate the vicious elements which led this tragedy.

Along with recommending the Children Day, the house also added that prayer for the martyrs, peace and stability of the country should also be offered ever year across the country in all the educational institutions.

Meanwhile, commemorating the tragic day, the Pakistan Post has issued a special postal ticket bearing a phrase ‘Zindagi Shama Ki Soorat Hou Khudaya Meri’ on this day.
