KARACHI/LAHORE: Last phase of Local government Punjab and Sindh is being held today. Strict security measures have taken in 12 districts of Punjab and 6 districts of Karachi. The polling time began at 7:30 am and will continue without any break till 5:30 pm.
The Election Commission has made all the arrangements to hold elections in a fair and transparent.The Commission has also established a control room in Islamabad which will work till the results, Radio Pakistan reported.
The two pahses in the Punjab has already over. In the two phases Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N ) in Punjab claimed highest number of seats and in Sindh Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) secure the first position in terms of seats.
In both provinces strict measures have taken to control any security related issues. Showing off license weapons is not allowed.
Original Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) is mandatory for the voters for vote casting. Office card, Driving card, Passport and copy of CNIC will not be allowed for vote.
