Prime Minister has decided of approaching the political parties, to seek the confidence of the national polity over the recent national issues, and those emanating out of Zarb-i-Azb operation.
The decision was arrived at , at the conclusion of a meeting presided over by Nawaz Sharif,at his Raiwind residence, on Sunday. The meeting was attended by the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif , leading PML-N leaders and several government functionaries.
One of the attendants of the meeting also revealed that the talks over the recent demands made by Pakistan Tehreek-i-insaf (PTI) chief and of the opposition agenda of Dr Tahirul Qadri ,post Model Town incident, were also held during the meeting.
The same attendant of the meeting further told the media about the unanimous agreement reached at the meeting , according to which all the parliamentary and political leaders are to be sent invitation ,to invoke their suggestions and incorporating their point-of-view relating to current situation in Pakistan, and most importantly over the issue of Internally displaced persons(IDPs).
He underscored the significance of this consultation towards aligning the military and civilian viewpoints on the same page, which is the need of the hour and is important for post-operation scenario as well. This negotiating process would prevent the reemergence of political disunity, post-Swat operation. He also divulged that the operation would probably come to its decisive conclusion ,by the middle of Ramazan. He also expressed the establishment’s desire of conducting a broad-based consensus amongst all the major stake holders.
He also hinted at the alternative ,as envisaged in the meeting, that in case of failure of holding multi-party consultations, the Prime Minister would thereby meet PPP co-chairperson, Asif Zardari, and PTI chief Imran Khan, respectively, within a week.
