Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has declared ,on Friday, an increment in the cash grants ,meant for the displaced families from North Waziristan , to Rs40,000 ,especially for Ramazan.
The premiere made the announcement during his visit to a camp of Internally displaced people. He also expressed his resolve of cleansing the country of militants and assured the IDPs of full governmental and military support for their rehabilitation.
Sympathizing with the IDPs, he said that he is fully aware of the pain of leaving one’s home , albeit he made a claim of government’s capability in having them resettled and providing them the basic necessities of life, and that they would soon return to their homes with dignity. He also added, “This is not an act of kindness but we are fulfilling our duty.”
During the premiere’s recent visit to IDPs, military officials briefed him about the undergoing preparations for accommodating the affected ones.
He vehemently criticized the terrorists of threatening the national sovereignty and reposed his confidence in the Zarb-i- Azb operation.
Along with this, he made a commitment of redeveloping the infrastructure and reconstruction of the houses, schools and hospitals in the affected areas, once the military operation comes to its conclusion.
He spoke of the on-going working relationship between the Army and the government, in improvising the relief efforts in an efficiently coordinated manner. He also mentioned about conducting a research on the damages ,borne by the affected people, vowing to provide the complete compensatory and rehabilitative measures to the damages.
During his visit, the Prime Minister distributed ration and other food items among the displaced families. He also assured the IDPs of taking care of their live-stock. He also spoke of the comprehensive medical facilities being provided for the treatment of the affected ones.
Nawaz Sharif lauded the painstaking relief efforts of the Pakistan Army and other departments of their contributions towards the assistance of IDPs.
