KARACHI: Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon declared today (Tuesday) that the Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarian (PPP-P) has distanced itself from the former Home Minister of Sindh and vice-president of PPP, Zulfiqar Mirza, for his allegation against the party’s co-chairperson, Asif Ali Zardari.
Memon said to media in Karachi, “If Zulfiqar Mirza doesn’t trust the party leadership then the PPP disowns him. And if Zulfiqar Mirza has a problem with the party, why doesn’t he return the two party tickets?”
Today the official statement comes from PPP after one week of allegation of corruption made by Dr. Mirza against Zardari in a TV talk show.
“PPP is not the party of a particular person. All of us and our family members have rendered scarifies for it. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is the real leader of the party and we will meet him soon,” earlier said by Dr. Mirza at February 12.
PPP-P chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also tweeted on February 16, “The PPP stands united, anyone claiming otherwise and speaking against the leadership is no friend of the party.”
It is not the first time that PPP disowns Dr. Mirza and his words. In fact, in past PPP had distanced itself from Dr. Mirza and his statements against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and his own party leadership.
