PML-N and PPP should comply with MQM’s demands: Altaf Hussain

KARACHI: Mutahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain said that MQM can abstain from election of Chairman and Deputy Chairman of Senate if ruling party and opposition failed in fulfilling our demands as reported on the official site of MQM.

Addressing to the Rabita Committee Pakistan and London, especially committee formed for Senate elections, he directed that if PML-N and PPP failed in guarantying their demands than Rabita Committee and Dialogue Committee have right to abstain from election of Senate Chairman and Deputy Chairman.

Just an half hour before, Awami National Party (ANP) chief Asfand Yar Wali also held a meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad and discussed political situation and the issue of the election of Chairman and Deputy Chairman of Senate.

PPP is still ruling in Senate with 27 seats while ruling party PML-N has 26 senators. Currently 100 seats of Senate has been filled as polls for remaining four seats in the Federally Administered Tribal Area (FATA) were postponed due to legal and constitutional complications and fresh date for Senate election in FATA will be announced later.
