PM, President congratulate Pakistan on successful test of Shaheen-III missile


RAWALPINDI: Pakistan carried out another accomplishment of test of the Shaheen-III surface-to-surface ballistic missile, confirmed Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).


The tested missile has the capability to carry nuclear conventional warheads to a maximum range of 2,750 kilometres. The latest test was triggered to validate different design and technical parametres of the arsenal system of the country.

“The successful flight test with its impact point in the Arabian Sea, validating all the desired parameters, was witnessed by senior officers from Strategic Plans Division, Strategic Forces, scientists and engineers of Strategic Organizations,” said in the statement.

Lieutenant General Mazhar Jamil, the Director General Strategic Plans Division, commended the exertions of the scientists and engineers on having achieved the milestone.


“Pakistan desires peaceful co-existence in the region for which nuclear deterrence would further strengthen strategic stability in South Asia,” he added.

He also lauded the devotion and dedication of those engaged in to have a successful end. He also expressed full confidence over Strategic Command and Control System and the Strategic Forces’ operational preparedness to safeguard against any belligerent design.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and President Mamnoon Hussain have felicitated the team whose efforts substantiated the success of these tests.
