PM Nawaz urges media to play role for betterment


LAHORE: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif urged Pakistani media to play a responsible role for the betterment of nation and steering Pakistan out of crisis while addressing the Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE). PM also appreciated the contribution of journalists and analyst in national development.



PM said, “I heartily respect journalists making efforts to protect democracy and constitution. For the next two years, channels should forego the race of ratings and support the government.”

PM also gave his opinion on Islamabad sit-ins in last year 2014. PM rejected the allegations by saying that sit-ins 2014 were not organized by the government to gave the expression of the opposition movement against the government. He further said, “The objectives of the sit-ins are beyond my understanding.”
