Lahore: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif says that the culprits involved in Baldia factory fire would be taken to the task no matter from which political party they belong.
He was addressing to the meeting of the of Council of Pakistan Newspaper editors on Saturday, he told that he had received the report of Joint Investigation Team (JIT) on the matter. He said “It has caused a stir in Karachi, but we will not demoralise our institutions because of it”.
He also told that Karachi was returning back to its normality due to operation which started here in 2013. The government would not give up till the city was cleared of outlaws, he said.
PM talks about media
“I believe in freedom of media, but it must set aside its (races for better) rating and business for two years and support the government and parliament (for implementing NAP and riding the country of terrorism). The media should avoid unnecessarily criticising the government, maligning it and discouraging investment.
“Despite differences, all political leaders and military got united on the NAP. Media would also have to support it,” he said.
He also gave references of the situation when media was divided on issues, including Pervez Musharaf’s martial law and recent sit-ins by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf and the Pakistani Awami Tehreek.
