Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has announced Rs 1 billion as a relief fund for those affected by recent floods in Sindh.
PM said that federal and provincial governments will jointly carry out the relief activities and support the flood affectees to rehabilitate.
The premier was addressing the flood affectees during his visit to Qadirpur Ghotki, Sindh on Tuesday. Was welcomed by Sindh DM Syed Qaim Ali Shah who was also present on this occasion. Nawaz Sharif commended Sindh administration on their relief efforts in the province.
PM expressed his sympathies with those people that are directly or in directory affected by flood. He pledged that government will let no stone under to lessen the hardships faced by flood affectees.
PM Nawaz was also briefed that the urban areas are safe and sound and that the protective bunds of the River Indus are strengthened. On this occasion, he was also informed that up to 70 per cent unpaved area has been affected due to the flood.
Earlier, the PM reached Sukkur to visit flood affected areas of Sindh, the Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah welcomed and received the premier at the Airport.
