Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has stated that the announced 341 billion rupees Kissan package would support farmers across the country, and small farmer in particular.
In a statement on Friday, the premier openly accepted and welcomed the restoration of ‘Kissan’ package by the Islamabad High Court.
He stated that farmers would be provided subsidized loans for agriculture, increased compensation for the grow of cotton and rice increase of per index amount unit of land from two thousand rupees to four thousand rupees.
He reaffirmed that the package is for the farmer of Pakistan and would be implemented without any political and regional prejudice so that every single farmer gets full benefits of the scheme.
Earlier, the announcement of the package, made on September 15, was not welcomed and criticized by opposition parties and was challenged in Islamabad High Court (IHC). About two weeks later of the announcement, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) deferred execution of some part of the relief package in a bid to thwart the incumbent Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) from a substantial unfair benefit in the upcoming local government polls.
However, with the restoration of the said package, it would definitely prove to beneficial for the farmers of the country.
