KARACHI: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday laid foundation of Green Line Bus Project in Karachi.
“The elevated section is 11.7 kilometres long and 7.7km is the length of the section on the ground,” Nawaz said. “There will be 22 bus stations and separate lanes for coming and going.”
“I am glad that this project has been launched within such short span of time. This project was extremely necessary for improving the transport system in Karachi. This will be completed by next year.”
Talking about Karachi operation, Premier said, We will not stop operation until city lights begins to shine again like in past.
According to estimate, project will cost 16,085 million, about three lakh commuter will avail the facility daily.
On the occasion, Govenor Sindh appreciated PM Nawaz’s initiative, CM Sindh thanked premier for providing financial assistances to Green Line Bus Project.
Earlier, at the PAF Base Faisal, the Nawaz Sharif was received by Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ibad and Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah.
