ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif left Islamabad on Wednesday for Riyadh on an official visit to take part in important talk with Saudi administration.
According to state media, he is visiting the Kingdom on the invitation of the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud to witness the joint military exercise ‘North Thunder’.
Beside Pakistan, head of states and government officials of those countries who has taking party in joint military exercise were also invited.
Army personnel from 21 countries, including Pakistan and host country Saudi Arabia, are participating in the exercise, in the northern region of Saudi Arabia. The main goal of the exercise is to improve training in responding to threats posed by terrorist groups.
Pakistan current has close ties with Saudi Arbia, during time of exile Nawaz Sharif had spent time in Kingdom.
