PM Nawaz called a national security council conference


ISLAMABAD: The premier has summoned a national security conference, in which parliamentary members of political parties will participate, to analyze the security situation in the country.


According to the reports, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif convoked a national security conference to be held in Prime Minister House Islamabad on Saturday.

All four chief ministers, parliamentary leaders of political parties, federal ministers, army chief General Raheel Sharif, DG ISI Major General Zaheer ul Islam and DGMO will participate in the meeting.


The burning issues like imposing Article 245 in Islamabad and the ongoing operation in North Waziristan will be focused.

DG ISI and DG military operation will brief the cabinet about the current situation regarding Zarb-i-Azb and the baffling security situation in the country.

Meanwhile, the call for conference has been made at the instance when Imran’s Azadi-March to protest against alleged rigging in the 2013 general election is only a few days away.

The government has been showing great apprehensions over Imran’s Azadi-March and this conference call is speculated to be linked with this matter.
