Lahore: The Prime Minister of Pakistan is going to regard India’s newly elected Prime Minister Narendra Modi by attending his oath-taking ceremony on Monday.
It was asserted earlier by Nirmala Sitharaman, the spokesperson of BJP, that all the leaders from the South Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) had been invited for the occasion.
There had been a great debate about this invitation from Modi to Nawaz and intellectuals and diplomats expressed mixed thoughts about the matter. However, the decision was taken by the Prime Minister on Saturday to accept the invitation which would prove to be a pleasant move according to the stakeholders. It had also been speculated that this turn will be a pathway to negotiate upon other serious concerning matters between the two countries. It should also be remembered that since the independence of both states, it is for the first time that India elected Prime Minister Invited Pakistan’s PM on the swearing ceremony.
Not only, Nawaz Shareef but all the other heads of (SAARC) countries are also invited by Nerandra Modi, who came from a poor family and used to sell tea at railway station in his childhood. Moreover, it was anticipated that Modi would likely to be the future Prime Minister of India after the Lok Sabha elections in 2014. It is a notable thing that these elections are held on a huge scale that never obsevered after 1980s. It is also worth mentioning that in the history of Indian political scenario, a leader won with huge majority who did not belong to Congress party.
All these concerning leaders who have been invited in the ceremony will attend this historical event except Sheikh Hasina Wajid, The Prime Minister of Bangladesh, would be represented by Speaker Shirin Chaudhury. Besides, other rulers of surrounding countries who will be present in the ceremony are Mahindra Rajapaksa from Sri Lanka, the president of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai, Tshering Tobgay of Bhutan, Nepali Prime Minister Sushil Koirala and the President of Maldives Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom. However, Nawaz Shareef is considered to be the most experienced politician among all these for being the three-time Minister of Pakistan.
The Prime Minister Nawaz Shareef is expected to land in India at 11:00am along with his delegation, which is comprised of Sartaj Aziz, who is the adviser on foreign affairs, Special Assistant to PM on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi, Javed Aslam The Secretary to PM, Aizaz Ahmad and Hussain Nawaz the son of PM.
The arrangement for the ceremony is highly elaborated with multi-layered security around the venue. The ceremony is staged in a grand open air environment with the capacity of 3 to 4 thousand guests.
Apart from the politicians and diplomats, well-known figures from the Bollywood including Amitabh Bachan, Lata Mangeshkar, Salman Khan and many others are also invited.
Furthermore, this historical event is considered to be a good sign for the region.
