Pervez Musharraf to go abroad ultimately, Gilani claims


Former Prime Minister of Pakistan claimed that Pervez Musharraf has to leave the country finally


Former PM and senior leader of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, has insisted that though former President Pervez Musharraf is put under treason charges but he will fly abroad sooner or later.

He was talking to media in Chak Jhumra, Faisalabad on Monday, urged present government to trial former dictator in high treason under Article VI from Oct 12, 1999.


He ruled out the possibility of rolling  back the system or any threats to democracy under the widespread anarchy. He said that the roots of democracy are strong enough to resist against long or short marches. The marches could not harm the political system.

He added that the peaceful protests to achieve basic rights and to identify back holes in governance, was the democratic right of every political party. The democratic government should deal with all circumstances with wisdom. The PPP leader said that it seems that Lahore Model Town tragedy was outcome of haste and unwarranted fear of the ruling elite class.

He also advised to all stakeholders to acknowledge the findings of judicial commission in Model Town tragedy with open heart.
