Brisbane: On Tuesday, chief selector of Pakistan Cricket team Moin khan had been called back from Australia, to clarify over his visit to casino in Christchurch, Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman (PCB) Shahryar Khan announced.
“There are widespread allegations into the conduct of the chief selector having brought the image of Pakistan and PCB into disrepute,” the Pakistan Cricket Board said in a statement on Tuesday.
PCB chairman Shahryar khan spoke with chief selector and other team, before he took the decision of Moin to return back.
“Moin been recalled immediately so that he can explain his position himself, and by which time we will also have a full picture,” said chairman PCB in Lahore.
Talking about Moin Khan, “He was also disappointed. But he told me he went there to have dinner, and didn’t do anything else.”
Manager Naveed Akram will take over as chief selector, in absence of Moin Khan.
This controversy took place on Feb 24, when a day before Pakistan match against West Indies, chief selector of Pakistan cricket team was seen in a casino situated in Christ Church.
Pakistan lose to the West Indies by 150 runs in the match, later visit of chief selector to casino was alleged with different matters and Moin was also caused for Pakistan’s defame.
Earlier, in the World Cup Pakistan began their tournament with loose against their arch-rival India.
