ISLAMABAD: The Joint session of the Parliament on Monday has passed a bill to make Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) into public limited company.
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar told Parliament that after consultations with the opposition the bill on PIA has been moved.
Minister also cleared that all the actions against PIA employees taken during protest on possible PIA privatisation, will be taken back by Tuesday.
“Criminal allegations and statements made against PIA, Government functionaries and public office holders would be withdrawn by complainants as per due process of law”, he added.
According to Radio Pakistan, joint session of the parliament today also adopted three other bills including the Emigration (Amendment) Bill, 2016, the Civil Servants (Amendment) Bill, 2016 and the Privatization Commission (Amendment) Bill, 2016.
Marking constitution day, Parliament also today unanimously passed a resolution reiterating the resolve to protect and implement 1973 Constitution.
Moreover, PPP stalwart and seasoned law-maker Atizaz Ahsan, take on government over Panama leaks, asked PML-N government to probe the matter according to law.
