The entire nation is ready to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr today after a formal confirmation of moon sighted of the month of Shawwal by Ruet-i-Hilal Committee yesterday.
Earlier on Friday, the Ruet-i-Hilal Committee had confirmed that the moon of the month of Shawwal/ Eid-ul-Fitr had been sighted and Eid-ul-Fitr would be celebrated on Saturday. The Eid-ul-Fitr prayer across the country would be started from 7:00 a.m.
The main Eid congregation in the capital will be held at the Faisal Mosque. A large number of parliamentarians, officials and envoys of Muslim countries and high officials are expected to offer Eid prayer at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad.
The main congregation in Lahore would be held at Badshahi Mosque and Daata Darbar Mosque. The main congregation in Karachi would be held at Gulshan-e-Jinnah (old Polo Ground), Nishtar Park, Federal-B area, T-Ground and Eidgah Nizamabad.
Eid-ul-Fitr is the religious festival celebrated by the Muslims worldwide that marks the end of Ramadan, the ninth Islamic holy month of fasting. The religious Eid is a single day during which Muslims are not permitted to fast.
According to various schools of thoughts of Muslims, they are commanded to pay Zakat and Fitra before offering Eid prayers.

According to Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee, the Fitrana amount has been fixed at Rs. 100 per head this year. The market price of 2.25kg of flour is Rs. 100 and same is the amount for Fitrana. Moreover, those who want to pay Fitrana equal to price of barely, dates, and raisins are required to pay Rs. 240, Rs. 1,280, and Rs. 2,560 per head respectively.
