Pakistan strikes down Indian ‘spy drone’: ISPR

ISLAMABAD: Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Wednesday said that Pakistan Army shot down the Indian spy drone along the Line of Control (LoC) in Bhimber, Azad Kasmir.

According to ISPR spy drone is used for aerial photography and Pakistani military forces targeted the Indian drone for its violation of Pakistan’s territorial integrity, as it entered into Pakistani airspace along the Line of Control.

The Himalayan territory of Kashmir is divided between India and Pakistan by the UN-monitored de facto border of LoC and the territory is claimed in full by both the countries.

The incident comes after meeting between PM Nawaz Sharif and Indian premier Narendra Modi, in which it was decided to arrange meetings of senior military officials of both countries to lower down tensions along LoC, a de facto border that divides Jammu and Kashmir.
