COLOMBO: On Tuesday, Pakistan and Sri Lanka signed eight agreements and MoUs in Colombo, Radio Pakistan reported.
Agreements will enhance cooperation in the areas of security, defense, anti-terrorism, trade and science and technology between two countries.
PM Nawaz Sharif said on the occasion, there are vast opportunities for bilateral trade and quantum of trade will be take to one billion dollars annually.
Pakistan is cooperating with Sri Lanka in the defense sector and the two countries will work together to choke financial assistance to terrorists, Pakistan is ready to give Sri Lanka the most favoured nation (MFN) status in trade, PM Nawaz added.
Pakistan delegation headed by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif along with Commerce Minister Khurram Dastgir, Minster of Defense Production Rana Tanveer Hussain, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi and Adviser on National Security Nasir Khan Janjua visiting Sri Lanka for three-day official visit.
