ISLAMABAD: British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond on Tuesday said UK welcomed the commitment shown by Pakistan to investigate Pathankot incident.
“I urge both Pakistan and India not to allow non-state actors and other pressure groups to derail the peace process. Settling the Kashmir issue should not be a precondition for starting the dialogue process,” British top official said while addressing a joint press conference with Sartaj Aziz in Islamabad.
Commenting on Pakistan efforts on war against terror, “ Pakistan more than any other country has been the victim of terrorism over the many years. Pakistan geo strategic location has been a source of tension now represents a source of opportunity to develop North-South energy route and east-west trade routes to China”.
Revealing UK relation policy with Pakistan, Hammond said, “ His country wants to work with Pakistan to make these long term opportunity bringing peace and prosperity in the lives of people”.
It was also informed during press talk that, Pakistan and United Kingdom has agreed to prepare 3-year road-map to boost bilateral ties.
British Foreign Serecary Philip Hammond is on official visit to Pakistan, he will meet high level officials of country.
