WASHINGTON: On Monday responding to journalist Seymour Hersh claims, White House flatly rejected claims that Pakistan was told in advance about a 2011 special operations raid that killed world’s most wanted man al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.
Seynour Hesh worte in Bristish publication,”The most blatant lie was that Pakistan’s two most senior military leaders, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, chief of the army staff, and General Ahmed Shuja Pasha, DG ISI- were never informed of the US mission.”
Edward Price, a White House National Secuirty Council spokesman said, “This was a US operation through and through.”
Rejecting the US journalist claims, Spokesman said,” The notion that the operation which killed the 9/11 mastermind, was anything but a unilateral US mission is patently false.”
Price said, “Knowledge of this operation was confined to a very small circle of senior US officials,”
“The President decided early on not to inform any other government, including the Pakistani government, which was not notified until after the raid had occurred.” statement further said.
