ISLAMABAD: In a meeting of Army Chief General Raheel Sharif and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday it was decided that Operation against terrorist will spread country wide to utilize the atmosphere generated by prodigious results of Zarb-e-Azb.
The internal and external security conditions were also discussed and decided that Zarb-e-Azb would be taken to its logical conclusions. Operation will continue across the country, regardless of the cost, and terrorists would be hunted down without any discrimination.
Govt. would not bear any statement against military. PM Says
Exalting the efforts of armed forces in ongoing FATA operation, PM said that nation had proud of its stout-hearted armed forces, and honored the sacrifices rendered by the officers and men in the fight against terrorism.
“Govt is in full support of Army and nation as a whole is standing behind army against terrorism” PM assured Army Chief
Operation Zarb-e-Azb was initiated on June 15, 2014 after the militant attack on Karachi International Airport and the failure of peace talks between TTP and Govt. of Pakistan. Approval of Zarb-e-Azb was taken from the Parliament. Although some of the political parties were against the operation. Peshawar incident of 16th December,2014 was considered as the reaction of Zarb-e-Azb.
