PESHAWAR: Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif has said that counter-terrorism operations in tribal areas by law-enforcement agencies are producing the expected results. He lauded at the achievements by the troops.
COAS has spent Chand Raat and Eid-ul-Fitr with troops fighting in Waziristan. Apart from troops, he also met the local elders of Edak Village, and NWA also. They also praised the COAS on outcomes of operations.
He said that our equal focus will now remain focusing on finding terror financing, choking all their sources, apprehending all financiers, abettors and sympathizers. He emphasized that we are long time partners in peace building. Moreover, overwhelming support and trust of nation is our biggest asset. They stand united behind us in accomplishing any mission. We will never let them down.
Addressing to the troops, COAS said, “While defending the motherland, staying away from our homes and families, we cherish and are proud of.” Paying rich tributes to Shuhada he said that we can never forget them at such occasion. Their best remembrance and sacrifices will not be wasted.
Army Chief also visited the IDPs Camp Bannu. He assured wholehearted support and commitment of Pak Army and the nation in relief and resettlement plan.
