ISLAMABAD: On Thursday, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif formally inaugurated National Health Programme. It will give quality healthcare to the poor in public and private hospitals.
Minister of State for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Saira Afzal Tarar said on the occasion, the programme will give medical assistance to needy people.
On the inception, programme is being started in fifteen districts of the country. Cards will be issued to the beneficiaries on which they will get free medical treatment of seven diseases. The first phase of programme will assist 1.2 million families .
Chairman NADRA Usman Mubeen explained PM Nawaz that 300 centres in Lahore and Islamabad are established and around 63,000 people will be issued heath cards.
Main Features of Health Cards:
Treatment for poor at private and public hospital.
Rs50,000 can be spent on Common illnesses.
For serious medical conditions card will spare Rs 300,000.
Due to prolong treatment limit can be extended to 6 lakhs.
PM was accompanied by his daughter Maryam Nawaz, Ishaq Dar, Khurram Dastgir, Saira Azfal Tarar, Baleeghur Rehman and Tariq Fazal.
