President of Pakistan congratulated the lawgivers on the completion of the first parliamentary year, adding that the legislature played a crucial role in stabilizing democracy in the country.
He said that political and civil society had contributed with unparalleled sacrifices in order to strengthen the democracy. Mamnoon said that public had chosen their political representatives and they had also shown their trust on them.
The PM was also present in today’s meeting in which president expressed his thoughts that economic and social development could only be taken place in the case of stability in the country which is in the priority of the government. He emphasized that friendly relations are inevitable with neighboring countries for maintaining peace in the region. While talking about Kashmir he said that this issue should be solved according to the wishes of Kashmir’s and UN resolutions.
Earlier, a boycott has been raised against the session by the joint opposition in the Senate which had decided to meet the opposition parties in the Upper House under the leadership of Aitzaz Ahsan.
It was Awami National Party which suggested that the opposition parties to boycott the session in the Parliament and this call was supported by other opposition leaders. The opposition parties objected on PM’s not visiting the Senate for the whole year and that they were not ready to pay any heed to president’s plan for the next year.
