WEB DESK: LAHORE University of Management Sciences (LUMS) grabbed the first prize in the final presentation of “P2P: Challenging Extremism” competition at the US department of State in America.
US Consulate General Lahore said on Fcebook page, “Pakistan project “Fate: From apathy to empathy” took first place and won $5,000 to expand their campaign within their local community”.
According to post, “University students from around the world developed campaigns and social media strategies against violent extremism that are credible, authentic, and believable to their peers and resonate within their communities. In 2016, a group from Pakistan, Switzerland, and the United States presented their final projects at the U.S. Department of State”.
LUMS Assistant Professor and known Laal Band vocalist Taimur Rahman also shared the news on his Facebook account.
