Ismaili Bus attack: High-class military and civil officials meeting Presided by Nawaz Sharif in Karachi

KARACHI: To discuss the security situation, a high-profile meeting was presided by Prime Minster Nawaz Sharif at the Governor House. General Raheel Sharif is also among the participants of the meeting, as today he cancelled his 3 days visit to Sri Lanka, following the attack on Ismaili Community.

Participants of the meeting includes ISI Director General (DG) Rizwan Akhtar, Corps Commander Karachi Lt Gen Naveed Mukhtar, Rangers DG Major General Bilal Akbar, Federal Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Sindh Governor Ishratul Ibad and others.

Discussion of the meeting, agrees to expand and speed up ongoing operation in the city.

“Karachi is the commercial hub of Pakistan;any incident that happens here holds great importance,” PM Nawaz Sharif said at the meeting.

He further told that enemies are not happy, as we are growing economically. He also told that this is the agenda of terrorist to stop our prosperity, more importantly we should identify and act against such forces.

As earlier today, unidentified assailants on motorbikes sprayed fire on Ismaili Community bus at Safoora Chowk Area, near Dow Medical College, Karachi.

According to the sources, militant group Jundullah has claimed responsibility of attack on Ismaili Community. The group is said to have links with Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and also possess strong relation with Islamic State group.

Sources also claim that pamphlets of the Islamic State (IS) militant group were also found at the crime scene.
