Iranian President Rouhani arrives in Islamabad


ISLAMABAD: Iranian President  Hassan Rouhani  on Friday arrived in Islamabad for two-days visit.


According to Radio Pakistan,  Iranian President will  meet Presdient Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to discuss international issues of mutual interest and  talks on regional cooperation.

Talking to reporters before leaving for Pakistan, the Rouhani said, “I’m glad that my first foreign trip in the new Iranian year is to a Muslim and friendly country.”

“We have had good relations with Pakistan since their independence and bilateral ties have been higher than normal and the two nations have been very close to each other,” he added.

High-level  Iranian delegation comprising ministers, senior officials and businessman accompanying  Hassan Roudhani for his first visit to Pakistan.


As per  foreign ministry, the lifting of bans on Iran following its nuclear deal with the America and Europe, “has opened new avenues for enhancing economic interaction”.
