ISLAMABAD: The Nawaz’s government is striving its best to empower the youth socially and economically by launching various schemes under one mega project of Prime Minister Youth Programme (PMYP).
According to government officials, Rs. 5 billion have been distributed so far as business loans. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was briefed about the processing of cases submitted by the National Bank of Pakistan. Prime Minister expressed his annoyance at the slow pace of processing of cases sanctioned by NBP under PMUBL.
Various schemes were announced by the government including Youth Business Loan Scheme, Interest Free Loans Scheme, Youth Training Programme, Skill Development Programme, Youth Development Programme, and Fee Reimbursement. Except Fee Reimbursement all programs are close to their completion stage or steps are being taken to complete them.
No serious efforts have been made regarding fee reimbursement scheme.
Fee Reimbursement Programme should be launched completely according to its plan as students are facing problems in submission of heavy academic and hostel fees.
There is now fine line between government universities’ charges and private universities’ charges.
Officials have also claimed that Prime Minister Youth Training and Skills Development Programme will be launched soon. Plan is to launch 50,000 internships for those having 16 years of education. The internee will be give Rs. 12,000/mo. for one year. 25,000 students have passed out as skilled workers under PMYSDP previous phase.s
