Rawalpindi: On Saturday Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif was addressing a passing out parade held at Pakistan Military Academy Kakul, during his address he said that resolution of Kashmir issue is necessary to maintain peace in the region.
He added, Kashmir issue should be resolved in light of United Nations resolutions.
At least 20 people have lost their lives on both sides of the LoC and the working boundary in recent conflict between Indian and Pakistani armies.
Media reported, from past several days ceasefire violations along the LoC and working boundary between Pakistan and India took place intermittently , with causalities reported on both sides.
Talking on the ongoing military operation in North Waziristan He said that objective of army is to eliminate terrorism from the country and the area of North Waziristan is effectively evacuated from terrorists network. He also told that Zarb-e-Azab is successfully continuing.
The war against militants has been extended to the Khyber tribal region, however this war started on 15th June in North Waziristan to eliminate the militants to acquire peace in Pakistan.
