Islamabad: In the light of rental power project case, Raja Pervez Ashraf and eleven others are alleged by an accountability court on Tuesday.
Former finance minister Shaukat Tareen, former federal secretaries Ismail Qureshi and Shahid Rafi were also considered in the case of corruption in the Sahuwal and Piranghaib rental power projects.
Shaukat Tareen and Qureshi urged the accountability court to drop their names from the case which, however, the judge Muhammad Bashir refused their requests. In addition, the court also put these two among those accused in the case.
Later he court postponed the hearing till June 20 and ordered NAB to bring proofs and evidence against the accused.
It should be remembered that 12 TPPs cases have been investigated by NAB in which nine organizations allegedly get paid more than Rs22 billion as mobilization advance from the government to engage the projects, however, most of them were alleged of failing to set up plants.
Moreover, Rs 13 billion have been recovered by the bureau in this regard.
