LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore on Saturday incriminated five more suspects concerning the murder of 25-year-old Farzana who was stoned to death outside the Lahore High Court.
The Judge Haroon heard the case at ATC-III who was given the report by the police which nominated the names of five people, including the victim’s father Azeem, two brothers Ghulam Ali and Zahid Iqbal, former husban Mazhar Abbas and a close relative Jahan Khan, who were involved in killing.
All these five suspects are indicted today, however, all the witnesses, including the previously arrested, are ordered to appear on July 7. So, the hearing is postponed till the nominated date.
Moreover, in the name of so-called honor, Farzana Parveen was stoned to death on May 27 by her own relatives, including her brothers and father who attacked her with bricks fro marrying against her family’s will. Subsequently, the CM ordered “immediate action” over the savagery which left a question mark on the performance of the police in front of which the brazen took place in the broad daylight in the middle of Pakistan’s second largest city.
