The Pakistan Meteorological Department has said on Thursday that the chances of sighting of Eid moon on Friday are extremely high.
Eidul Fitr will take place on Saturday, July 18, If the moon is sighted on Friday. Furthermore, the Met department predicted clear skies for Sindh and Balochistan tomorrow, adding into that that would make chances of sighting the crescent moon high as compared to Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa where skies will remain cloudy. The duration of the appearance of the moon would be about 40 to 45 minutes.
Chairman of the committee Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman would lead a meeting of Sindh zonal committee at Pakistan Meteorological Department building in Karachi while other members of the committee would attend meetings of the provincial and district committees in their respective cities. The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet on Friday for the sighting of the moon.
Eidul Fitr symbols the result of the holy month of Ramadan. Ramadan started in the country from June 19.
Whereas, Minister of Justice Sultan bin Saeed Al Badi has decided to set up and lead a moon-sighting committee to confirm the start of the month of Shawwal after fasting for 29 days of Ramadan.
The Committee is to call together after Maghreb prayer on Thursday, 29th of Ramadan at the Judiciary Department in Abu Dhabi.
