RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Thursday dismissed 12 military officers over corruption, private media reported.
One major general, five brigadiers and three colonels are among those dismissed by the COAS.
The development comes after Raheel Sharif speech two days ago, in which he said,”Across the board accountability is necessary for the solidarity, integrity and prosperity of Pakistan”.
“Pakistan’s Armed Forces will fully support every meaningful effort in that direction which would ensure a better future for our next generations.” he said.
After his speech, political analyst raised many question about the words COAS used “Across the board accountability”. According to different pundits, Army should curb the in house corruption.
