Ceasefire violation: General Raheel warns India


ISLAMABAD: Army Chief General Raheel Sharif has warned India by stating that Pakistan would give a “befitting response” to any offence along the Line of Control (LoC) and Working Boundary.


The Army  chief delivered the statement while being in those areas affected by Indian firing along the Working Boundary near Sialkot.

“Let there be no doubt that any provocation along the LoC and Working Boundary will meet a befitting response,” Raheel Sharif was quoted as stated by Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asim Bajwa.

He declared the recent Indian ceasefire violations on the LoC and Working Boundary is aimed to distract Pakistan’s campaign against terrorists, and has negative impact on peace of the region.


During his visit, Army Chief met troops and natives in the areas along the Working Boundary and give homage to their resilience, as stated by ISPR. At this occasion, he asserted that the entire nation is unified to safeguard the homeland.



Meanwhile, the Army Chief’s visit came just days before the Indian foreign secretary is scheduled to pay a visit to Pakistan.
