Blast took five lives including two military officers in Rawalpindi


Rawalpindi: A suicide bomber attacked the military cabin on Fateh Jang road near Rawalpindi here on Wednesday which caused two military officers’ death.


According to the Director-General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Asim Bajwa, two Lieutenant-Colonels and three civilians lost their lives as a result of the blast.

Military sources told that the incident took place on Fateh Jang road when the military officers were on their way to a military installation at about 9:20 Am.

The dead and wounded persons were taken to a hospital by military helicopters immediately after the blast which was carried out by a suicide bomber. While on the other hand, several other helicopters were called in carry out a search operation in the area to locate the hidden hands behind this incident.


The entire area had been blocked by the security forces and the evidences were collected from the place of blast.

The attack is considered to be the aftermath of military action and airstrikes in the North Waziristan tribal areas and no one seems to confess the responsibility for today’s bombing.

The today’s attack is also expected to cast another blow to the currently curbed peace procee
dings with the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan.
