Blast plan thwarted by bomb disposal squad in Peshawar


PESHAWAR: A bomb which was planted under a vehicle parked near Khyber Teaching Hospital University Town was foiled by bomb disposal squad here on Friday. According to the officials, explosive material which was carried in a shopping bag attached under a Land Cruiser defused by using water charges. The explosive material weighed about 500 grams which could have been destructive if exploded. It is reported that the vehicle to which the bomb was planted belonged to a man named Babar Imran who went to get his mother examined in Khyber Teaching Hospital. After returning from the hospital, he happened to find a shopping bag under his carriage and he informed the authorities without any delay.
