ISLAMABAD: The ARY Gold and Ursis tractor references against former president Asif Ali Zardari will be taken by the Accountability Court (AC) today.
Earlier, a pea made by Farooq H Naik counsel for Asif Ali Zardai for giving argument afresh in both these cases had been accepted by the court during the previous hearing. Farooq has taken the plea, mentioning that no case has been made about any corruption by Asif Ali Zardari in the decision of Lahore High Court (LHC). He added that he needed to provide to the court decision of LHC.
Meanwhile, in the ARY Gold reference president Zardair was accused of facilitating the company in establishing a monopoly over gold imports in Pakistan. He was also accused of receiving a commission as part of the deal allegedly struck during Benazir Bhutto’s government. The money, approximately $10 million, was allegedly deposited into Zardari’s Citibank account in Dubai.
