ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif met Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif at Prime Minister House, Islamabad, just after two day of the 169th Corps Commander Conference that was held in General Head Quarter, Rawalpindi, dated February 3, 2015 to February 4, 2015.
COAS General Raheel Sharif briefed the PM Nawaz Sharif on the current internal and external security situation of the country. Operation Zarb-e-Azab, Khayber-One, in North Waziristan and adjacent areas, and National Counter-Terrorism Plan were also discussed in the meeting.
COAS took PM Nawaz Sharif into confidence over his current visit to China where he met with China’s military top brass, Gen. Qi Jiangou, Gen Fan Changlong, and Yu Zhengsheng, the top political leadership of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).
The Army Chief also shared the detail of recent promotion of 28 army brigadiers to major generals.
