One day after Imran Khan stated that the allegation of ’35 punctures’ was merely a political tactic, confusion seems to be arisen among party leaders.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) stalwart Dr Arif Alvi suggested to render an apology over such allegations while another party pillar Jahangir Khan Tareen came with saying that there were in fact 71 punctures instead of 35. Alvi might be asking for apology at this miscalculation.

On a question that why the matter was raised before the judicial commission investigating poll rigging allegations during the elections, the party chairman Imran Khan replied that the issue of 35 punctures was just a ‘political talk’.

He explained that the information was indirectly reached the members of the party after passing through number of sources.

Shortly after the party chairman’s interview, another party leader Naeemul Haque tweeted: “Of course the 35 puncture story was political but also correct. Let Najam Sethi, Murtaza Poya, Dr Ijaz and US Ambassador come on TV on this.”

However, Dr Alvi tweet differently:

When an observer asked Dr Alvi and Naeemul Haque to attend the phone call and speak over their views, Dr Alvi tweeted: “Actually we picked up the phone and talked about it. Mr Naeem Haq has the info but I don’t.”

On the other hand, Jahangir Tareen turned Dr Alvi’s apology remarks down, saying they might have been his own views.
