23 March Pakistan Day 2017 to be Observed as Public Holiday


ISLAMABAD: Federal Government has announced 23 March, also called Pakistan Day, as public holiday.


23 March has greatest importance in the history of Pakistan. It was the day when leaders of Pakistan passed a resolution in Lahore, called Lahore Resolution, aiming to fight for a separate country for the Muslims of sub-continent. Before Lahore Resolution, there was no idea and concept of a separate state. But ongoing bad situation forced the Muslims of sub-continent to fight for a separate state for their selves.


This year the day will be celebrated with full zeal, enthusiasm and grandeur in the memory to commemorate the event when political leadership drafted and passed the first political resolution of Pakistan at the Minar-e-Pakistan that laid down the foundation of an independent country comprising with Muslim majority.

Preparations for Pakistan Day Parade are at full swing. Troops and bands of People’s Liberation Army China Tri-Services, Turkish Janissary Military Band and Saudi Special Force’s will also participate in the parade to show their performance and love for Pakistan. Earlier ISPR has confirmed that all sections of Pakistan Army will take part in the event. President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will also observe the Pakistan Day Parade.
