Here is what Twitter has to say about PEMRA’s ban on Hamza Ali Abbasi

Hamza Ali Abbasi who recently went on exploring never-discussed before topics during his Ramadan transmission ‘Ramazan Hamara Iman’ on Aaj News was finally banned by the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) yesterday. The media regulating body imposed an immediate ban on Abbasi’s transmission and on Shabbir Abu Talib’s TV One Ramadan transmission ‘Isq-e-Ramazan’.

The statement issued by the authoritative body tells that around 1,133 complaints were registered by the viewers regarding both these Ramazan transmissions.

“During these transmissions, ratings were focused on in the guise of Ramazan shows, in which sectarianism and provocative conversation took place which have led to much sadness and anger,” read the PEMRA statement.

Following this, people from different fields of life took it to Twitter to express their point over PEMRA’s ban over Hamza Ali Abbasi’s Ramadan transmission.
