Former PM Nawaz Sharif removed as PML-N head after SC Decision


3 judge of Supreme Court bench headed by CJP(Chief Justice of Pakistan) Mian Saqib Nisar ruled on Wednesday that the person who disqualified under Articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution cannot serve as head of any political party.


Earlier few months back Nawaz Sharif disqualified by 5 member of Supreme Court bench to unfit to hold public office under the section 62(1)(f) of constitution and former prime minister had not been ‘honest’ and ‘truthful’.


After loosing Prime Minister seat now he lost also the his party presidency. All the decisions which taken by Nawaz Sharif as the president of PML N(Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz Group) after his disqualification has been nullified.

Chief Justice Saqib Nisar, in his remarks, said that it’s mandatory for a political party head must be fulfil the requirements of Articles 62 and 63, as a party chief.

Now PML-N have to elect new president of his party within 45 days.

According to a senior law maker this verdict may not affect the registration of PML N as party but all the decision which made by Nawaz Sharif as party head after his disqualification will be nullified.
